Jeane Copenhaver-Johnson

Jeane Copenhaver-Johnson is Assistant Professor in the School of Teaching and Learning at the Ohio State University at Mansfield.  She teaches courses in language, literacy, and multicultural education and has focused her research on better understanding how urban children respond to read-alouds of race-themed picturebooks. She has also been, for two and a half years, part of a Teacher Inquiry Group (TIGers) with other teachers, doctoral students, and university faculty who use literacy experiences to help combat homophobia and heterosexism in schools.
