The Public Education Network (PEN) is a national association of local
education funds that works to educate the nation about the relationship
between school quality and the quality of community and public life.
The Consortium for Policy Research
in Education (CPRE) studies how reforms - in policy, organization, or structure - lead to improvements
in instruction; how knowledge and experience influence reforms; and
how the links between knowledge, reforms, and practice can be strengthened.
CPRE unites researchers from the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard
University, Stanford University, the University of Michigan, and the
University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Research for Action (RFA) is a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization
engaged in educational research and reform. Founded in 1992, RFA works
with educators, students, parents and community members to improve educational
opportunities and outcomes for all students. RFA work falls along a
continuum of highly participatory research to more traditional policy
studies that use qualitative methods and case study analysis.
