Jesús Nieto, Ph.D.
Jesús Nieto is Associate Professor in the School of Teacher Education at San Diego State University. He teaches Introduction to Multicultural Education classes using a framework which is student-centered and experiential. Jesús focuses on issues of cultural diversity (gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic class) and of power relations. He examines the impact of societal institutions such as the mass media, educational system, government, military, and organized religion. His students engage in self-examination, cultural immersion and social activism.
